Green Tea Perfume

Everyone likes to smell nice, and when you think of applying perfume you think of floral scents, or maybe a sandalwood or even a musk. However, it may be time to start thinking green tea as a fragrance as well, as green tea perfume is the new “green” fragrance this year. Several designers have released light, fresh, green tea scents with price tags ranging from $50 to $150 per bottle.

You can also make your own green tea perfume for a fraction of the price, and you probably already have all of the ingredients right in your own kitchen.

  • First brew a really strong cup of tea with either 4 tea bags per cup or a packed tea ball. After bringing water to a boil, let the tea steep until the water is cold. Use the best green tea that you can find, as this will yield a finer perfume.
  • Next assemble your green tea perfume in a clean, glass jar with a lid. Add one ounce of green tea to your jar, and to this add three ounces of vodka.
  • Next add green tea fragrance oil to you green tea perfume. Fifteen or twenty drops should do the trick. Fragrance oils are not as potent as essential oils, but they do create a better scent. When choosing an oil look for natural ingredients to create the best product.
  • Then cover your new green tea perfume and store it in a cool, dark place. Leave it alone and let it cure for at least two days and as long as several weeks depending on how strong you want the scent to be.
  • And, finally, you can store your new green tea perfume in a dark, decorative bottle to help it retain its scent, and you are ready to dab on your new, home made, green tea at a fraction of the cost of designer brands.
