Stash tea prides themselves in making tea with natural ingredients.
They began brewing in Portland in 1972. Therefore this company is pretty new compared to some of the others we have talked about thus far. But that has no effect on how delicious and amazing the tea they make is! They still know tea. They began by selling traditional and specialty tea blends to restaurants and mail order.
Today, they are headquartered in Tigard, Oregon which is a suburb of Portland and are one of the largest tea companies in the United States. They sell everywhere – grocery stores, natural food stores, online, mass merchandisers, etc.
How did they come up with the name Stash? Well, it seems to be from a tea folklore. The fine teas were often given to the captain of the ship and this specific “stash” of tea was kept hidden away from others because it was so precious.
They are locally and globally aware of the environment and aim to keep it clean. They are sure to select teas at specific places because they only offer business to HONEST and FAIR places. They also are committed to renewable energy and purchase green power through the local electric utility, Portland General Electric. They reuse & recycle packaging materials, office supplies and anything else that they possibly can.
If you can’t tell, we here at ETS love green companies!

Even though it’s not that time of year yet, we want you to be able to stock up on this fast seller. The Stash Christmas Eve Tea is a great caffeine-free option around the winter months. They will be here before we know it! This herbal tea has hints of mint & sweet spices. So relax by the fire with this warm, delicious cup of tea.
“This is my favorite tea out there and it was nearly impossible to find it for the holidays this year. I’m so grateful the English Tea Store had it. I stocked up for the year just in case Stash has stopped making it.” – Brigette, an ETS customer
And lastly, the Decaf Chai Spice Tea! This is another decaffeinated option. This specific tea is spicy, blend of black tea along with ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, clove & cardamom. Talk about flavor!
“I was happy finding Stash’s Chai Spice in a decaffeinated version. The flavorful spice is just as excellent as the caffeinated version… a bold decaf alternative for fireside sipping!” – George, an ETS customer.
Some other delicious options for fall are the Pumpkin Spice Decaf and the Orange Spice Black.
Stay tuned to next Wednesday, where we talk about the famous Tazo tea!
