This holiday season I decided to make some peppermint bark of my own and realized that I could add some color and a little bit more flavor with some Peppermint Matcha from English Tea Store. This tea is as delicate as fresh fallen snow, with a mellow taste and a cool, peppermint finish. Its powdery-like texture allows for easy blending with food and drink. The natural green color helps add its signature light green color to your chocolate.
For Peppermint Matcha Bark, you will need these ingredients:
- 10 ounces of white chocolate baking chips
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of English Tea Store Peppermint Matcha
- Crushed peppermint candy, sprinkles, or anything you want to top your bark with.
- Cookie sheet
- Parchment paper
Take your white chocolate (in a microwave safe bowl) and microwave on HIGH power at 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval until the chocolate is melted. While waiting, you can get a baking sheet lined with parchment paper ready.
Add your peppermint matcha and stir until the tea is blended.
Once the matcha is mixed in, spread mixture and spread evenly on the parchment lined cookie sheet. While the chocolate is still warm, add some crushed peppermint candy, sprinkles, or more chocolate! I ended up adding some peppermint chocolate (which I admit I thought was crushed peppermint) along with some edible golden stars.
When your peppermint bark is cool, break it into pieces! You can enjoy it right away or bag it up and give to friends and family.
Merry Christmas!
