You don’t have to be crafty to make your own tea party invitations, and a homemade tea party invitation is always a nicer touch than a purchased invitation because it is more personal, and will most likely end up in a scrapbook.
These simple tips will help you design and create your own elegant tea party invitations for a fun afternoon of relaxing and socializing with friends.
Elegant Tea Party Invitations
You will need:
- white paper doilies
- card stock
- scrapbooking scissors
- paint marker (optional)
- scrapbooking embellishments that fit the theme of your tea party
If you’re not crafty enough with calligraphy to design your own invitation, you can print the details onto the card stock using your computer. Otherwise, you can use a paint marker to write this information down. This is the basic What, When, and Where, as well as any RSVP information.
Using a pair of scissors (preferably scrapbooking scissors), cut out the card stock so the edges are scalloped (or otherwise fancy) and then glue each invitation onto a doily.
Finally, embellish with the scrapbooking embellishments that are relevant to your tea party theme, insert into large envelopes, and mail (or personally deliver) to all of your potential guests.
Other Ideas
Depending on the theme of your tea party, you can include a free “gift” as part of the invitation. This can be a piece of candy, a seed packet (which is great for a garden tea party) or other relevant, low cost give-a-ways. Again, this is just an optional touch that gives each invitation a warm, personal feel that will stand out.
