An FBI Tea Moment

The other day hubby and I shared an FBI tea moment. No, we hadn’t posted something threatening on Twitter or bought a boatload of sinus medication to cook up in the lab in our basement (very tricky since we don’t have a basement). We also hadn’t kidnapped anyone (that guy stayed on his own accord and quite frankly we were getting a little sick of him — talk about wearing out your welcome!) nor committed a crime in one state and high-tailed it to another state. So, why the FBI tea moment?

First of all, this is not that FBI. It’s a “FaceBook Inspired” Tea Moment!

Anyone brave enough to be friends with me on Facebook will know that I have a penchant for sharing photos of such yummy tea time delights as cheesecake, brownies, pies, tarts, and without a doubt cupcakes! Such photos tend to serve as surrogates for the real thing to me. I admire but most of the time do not partake. They are all certainly dishes that I would love to indulge in, but at my age watching the waistline is pretty important. Plus I’m rather sedentary and leave all that jogging, bicycling, treadmilling, and so forth to you fitness fanatics. If I were really to gobble up all those goodies, I would be buying a new pair of pants every day — and each pair would be a size larger than the previous pair. In short, best to partake virtually!

However, we all have our limits. And I’m only human. Not to mention free will. Dang! Put those together with a mind that is open to the power of suggestion plus all those photos of sweet treats on Facebook and — voilà! — an FBI Tea Moment!

Okay, so I didn’t see these cupcakes on Facebook. And I didn’t bake them (which means they are definitely safe to eat — ba dum bum!) following one of those luscious recipes posted by people like Rock Recipes. Hubby brought these home. They’re pumpkin spice with the most totally yummers creamy frosting on them. Irresistible!

The tea chosen for this wonderful tea moment was Lovers Leap Darjeeling steeped up a bit lighter than usual. We found it delicate enough in flavor and aroma so that we were not overwhelmed between it and the strong flavors of cinnamon and other spices in the cupcakes. We were also able to drink it without milk and sweetener which meant not being bombarded with too much sweetness — and those cupcakes were very sweet!

Have your own FBI tea moment. Find some yummy treat or two posted on Facebook and then make or go out and buy something similar. Then steep up a pot of tasty tea to go with it. Enjoy!
