Blizzard Blues

Smack dab in the middle of winter, it can be hard to hold on to hope for spring. Valentine’s Day has passed, the excitement has faded, and the world outside often feels cold, white, and colorless.

With winter storms and blizzards rolling in, sometimes the only reason to step outside is to shovel your way out!

When I visited my fiancé in January 2016, we were hit by Winter Storm Jonas on the East Coast. As a California native, it was my first experience with a blizzard.

Watching the snow swirl in the wind was fascinating—but the aftermath was another story entirely!

During the storm, my saving grace was a supply of

Yorkshire Tea
, which I had thankfully packed from home.

But as much as I love Yorkshire Tea, having only one kind of tea during a long snowstorm quickly became a bit dull. Normally, I enjoy a variety of teas—green, white, herbal, rooibos, and black—but I didn’t have access to my full collection.

Here are a few teas to help brighten up even the coldest winter days:

Organic Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose green tea

Organic Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose green tea

— A delicate green tea flavored with sweet Montmorency cherries. Light, fruity, and smooth, it can be enjoyed hot or iced. It’s also low in caffeine and rich in antioxidants.

French Blend black tea

— A sophisticated blend inspired by France, combining Ceylon, Nilgiri, Assam, and Kenyan teas with notes of Earl Grey, lavender, jasmine, and rose petals.

Long Island Strawberry green tea

Long Island Strawberry green tea

— A bright and refreshing blend grown in China’s Hunan Province. Strawberry and dried papaya give it a naturally sweet, summery flavor that helps lift your mood during winter.

These teas are also perfect companions for travelers in need of a comforting break.

Next time I head out on a trip (or “on holiday,” as the British say), I’ll definitely be packing a wider variety of teas!
